Santa Cruz 1/2 Marathon
On April 19th Rob, Andy, Bridget (friends/neighbors), and Jason (Bridget’s brother) all ran in the Santa Cruz 1/2 Marathon. They all did a great job. Rob’s time was 1:51:48, Bridget came in at 1:59:46, Andy at 1:59:49, and Jason at 2:07:34. This was good practice for Jason since he was signed up for a 1/2 triathlon scheduled 3 weeks after this run. Rob asked Britain (Jason’s girlfriend) and me to meet them at the 1/2 way point, which turned out to not be such a hot plan in the end. It took us almost the whole time they were running to find the half way point, just to see them run by and wave, which upset Carter and he cried for his dad until we got back to the finish line. It took us forever to find parking at the end point and then there were so many people we couldn’t get a good spot to take pictures of them crossing the finish line. Next time we will have a much better, more organized plan! It was beautiful weather all weekend, nice and hot (which wasn’t so great for them during the run but I enjoyed it). We took a long weekend, driving up Friday night and staying through Monday. It was just the relaxing get away we needed. ~sg
